I have the honour to inform you that His Excellency the Governor at the interview he accorded me in April last, was

so kind as to offer me a letter to the Coloniel Office should I

desire to apply there for further employment.

As I purpose making such application upon arrival in

England I would request you to be good enough to inform His Excel-

lency of the fact and of my proposed departure from the Colony on

the 20th, instant assuring him at the same time of my grateful

appreciation of any assistance he may be kind enough to render me

in the manner suggested.
